The Learner Car
My car is a
Peugeot 207 – one of the most popular cars in Europe.
Comfort is
very important to being a relaxed driver. The car has multi-way
seat and steering adjustment, so you can expect to get a near ideal
driving position. It also has air conditioning so that whatever the
weather outside, you’ll be as warm or as cool as you need to be (but
not too cool – I get cold feet!). It has a punchy diesel engine so
it gives good performance whilst still being amongst the “greenest”
cars on the road. In the unlikely event that they are needed, it
has all round airbags for safety. I also have dual controls, but I
hope not to use them either. The car looks good too – in bright
red.
So overall,
you should feel safe, secure and comfortable.
Using Your Own Car
For all beginners, I will only use
a car that is properly kitted out for safe and secure driving
instruction e.g. has dual controls fitted. However, I may agree
to use an alternative car if you can demonstrate that you are
fully competent in basic driving skills. The alternative car
must be roadworthy and fully insured for you to drive.
If you have already passed your
test and are taking additional lessons or a refresher course, I
will be happy for you to use your own car. You will need to
provide evidence that it is roadworthy and properly insured.

learning to drive in.
